Welcome…
We’re delighted you’re here!
WHAT WE DO
We bring people together.
Since 2012 we’ve organised over 70 events, created thousands of connections and brought businesses and people together through meaningful experiences that help businesses connect, collaborate and grow.
From networking events and business promotion to our Business Directory and Business Hub, we create spaces where people can meet, share ideas and build relationships.
Alongside our business community, we continue to deliver our boutique wedding fairs, bringing together couples and exceptional wedding businesses across the East Midlands.
WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
We believe great things happen when the right people connect.
We're passionate about supporting local businesses and creating spaces where people can learn, collaborate and thrive. Whether that's through networking events, introductions or community-led experiences, we're here to help bring people together.
While our roots are firmly in the East Midlands, our community continues to grow both locally and online. From Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire to further afield, we're proud to connect ambitious people who want to build better businesses and stronger relationships.
Keep an eye on our Events Calendar for upcoming networking events, business experiences, and community gatherings.
About us
-
HI, WE'RE EMMA-JANE & BRIAN
We launched Fizzydo in 2012 with a simple aim – to bring people together through great events and meaningful connections.
Over the years we've worked with venues across the East Midlands to create opportunities for businesses to showcase what they do, organising more than 70 events in everything from barns and castles to stately homes, hotels and unique venues.
We're proud that many of the businesses who joined us in the early days are still part of our community today – something we never take for granted.
Based in Charnwood, Leicestershire, we're passionate about supporting local businesses while creating opportunities for people to connect, collaborate and grow. Whether that's through networking events, our Business Hub, business promotion or our remaining wedding fairs, our focus has always been the same: bringing the right people together.
As a small family business, you'll always deal directly with us. There are no sales teams, no pushy phone calls and no hard sell – just honest conversations and a genuine desire to help businesses thrive.
When you call, you'll probably speak to Emma-Jane, so don't be surprised if we know your name, your business and what you're hoping to achieve.
Whether you're taking your first steps in business or have years of experience behind you, we'd love to welcome you to the Fizzydo community.

Founder | Events | Marketing | Creative
My name often gets shortened from Emma-Jane to Emma, Em or EJ but I answer to all of the above!
I live in Charnwood, Leicestershire with my husband Brian.
It’s me you’ll probably speak with when you call, especially if you want to discuss our events.
I organise our events, manage the marketing and lead the creative direction for Fizzydo.
You'll usually find me welcoming guests at our events.
I grew up by the sea, in my family’s hotel.
I adore animals, dogs in particular, although an unexpected soft spot for felines arose when adopted by the neighbour’s cat.
I love travelling, good food, staying in hotels, and nosing around stately homes.
I enjoy reading crime novels and thrillers. I also enjoy reading TV and film scripts and am currently working on one of my own.
I’m more excited to browse a fine food deli than a posh boutique. Food packaging is my catnip.
I am deeply envious of women who walk effortlessly in high heels. I find it impossible to do so without falling over. I console myself with a small collection of Converse.
ANNECDOTES
My favourite ‘met someone famous’ moment was drinking tea with members of legendary rock band Black Sabbath.
I once parked Paul Gascoigne’s car.
In 1997 I was unknowingly caught by a news camera placing flowers outside Kensington Palace for the late Princess Diana. I only found out in 2023 when I spotted myself while watching “The Real Crown: Inside The House of Windsor”.
When disembarking from a cruise ship, a member of the crew accidentally dropped my luggage into the sea.
I worked as a TV extra and have experience of theatre, film, radio and public speaking. I’m a bit of a luvvie at heart.

Brian hates being the centre of attention, so I had to drag this short and sweet bio out of him.
Brian is a qualified Graphic Designer with a background in fashion. His graphics have appeared on clothing for M&S, Per Una, River Island, NEXT, Score Draw, New Look and other high street retailers.
It’s Brian you’ll speak with about your artwork, branding, advertising and any banners or leaflets you’d like printing. He also helps co-ordinate our events.
Brian designs most of our graphics, gets cross when I use Canva (he never uses it) and is responsible for producing our print or digital publications, client logos and brochures. He liaises with our printers and designs templates for clients to upload to VistaPrint.
Brian loves music (an understatement) and plays the guitar but never, ever, in public.
He is the Imelda Marcos of shoes and sunglasses, and his specialist subject is vintage clothing and footwear.
His claim to fame? Appearing as an extra in an AC/DC music video.
