HOW DOES IT WORK?

Fizzydo is a brand owned and operated by Buckinghams Media.

All content submissions are governed by our Content Submission Terms & Conditions

Since 2012 we’ve asked businesses who want to work with us to confirm they have their professional ducks in a row.

The Fizzydo Wedding Network is a curated list of venues and suppliers who have been invited or applied to join our professional business network. This is a paid-for service that helps support and maintain the Fizzydo platform.

EVEN THOUGH WE CHARGE A JOINING FEE, WE DON’T APPROVE JUST ANYONE

We carefully consider each application before giving it our ‘Approved’ status.

While our network members have met our joining criteria, Fizzydo remains an independent platform. As such, membership represents a successful verification process rather than a formal endorsement, recommendation or guarantee of service.

DON’T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU SEE

Over the years we’ve learned that some businesses (thankfully only very few) can be top notch at what they do, have a great website and reviews, and meet all the professional criteria, but only later show their true colours when we work with them. Wedding fairs and shoots often reveal to us those suppliers who are by heart team players, helpful, friendly and kind, and those who are not.

As such, our list is reviewed annually.

None of us have a crystal ball so this is why we recommend you make time, if at all possible, to meet suppliers in person before booking them.

Go and see their products up close, taste the cake, smell the flowers, meet them eye to eye, and have a conversation.

WHAT EVERY COUPLE SHOULD DO

Couples should check references, confirm insurance, and ensure each supplier is suitable for their specific needs. Who or what we love might not be right for you, and vice versa.

Check their Google Reviews, ask for references you can obtain yourselves, speak to venues where they work. Do your homework.

Many of the businesses listed also exhibit at our wedding fairs so you can meet them face to face.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Just to be clear, Fizzydo is not responsible in any way for the actions of venues and suppliers listed in the Wedding Network Directory, EJ’s Little Black Book or who exhibit at our events.

We are not responsible for any loss arising from the insolvency, cessation of trading, or financial failure of any supplier or venue listed.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fizzydo and Buckinghams Media shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss, damage, or disappointment arising from your engagement with any supplier or venue listed in this directory.

QUESTIONS TO ASK SUPPLIERS

We've put together some helpful questions to ask when you're speaking with suppliers before engaging their services.  This is by no means an exhaustive list of suggestions, but we hope it helps.

PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE - We highly advise you ask for a copy of their Public Liability Insurance and any other permits or licenses they may require to trade in their chosen industry. e.g alcohol license.

DEPOSITS -Ask what the deposit is and how payments can be made e.g. do they take Credit Cards.

CANCELLATION POLICIES - Ask about their cancellation policy so you understand what would happen should you need to cancel their services. This is especially important with regard to venues as cancellation fees can be high. Consider paying deposits and balances with a Credit Card as you may have additional cover but please ask your bank for more details as we are not banking experts!

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH - All cake makers and other food businesses should be registered BY LAW with the local Environmental Health department. This includes ice cream trucks, cheese wedding cakes, edible wedding favours etc. You can check Food Standards Agency ratings here https://ratings.food.gov.uk/ If your supplier is not listed please check directly with the EHA - there may simply be a delay on their listing.

Do not assume a cake maker recommended by a venue is legally registered - we have proof this isn’t always the case!

REFERENCES - Please obtain your own references and make your own checks as to the suitability and reliability of businesses for your particular requirements. We suggest speaking to venues where they have previously worked and checking independent platforms like Google Reviews to see a broad range of client feedback.

EVENTS & FAIRS - Please note event dates are subject to change without notice. Suppliers do not always tell us about such changes so please contact the relevant business to confirm dates or for more information.
