CONCEPT

This monochrome editorial shoot offers eye-catching ideas for a chic black and white wedding; conceptualised by Chloe Kettle at Daffodil Event Planning

Chloe led her team to create a classic black and white theme with Chanel-esque detailing, frothy gypsophila aisle and statement black bows. The look is sleek and crisp, softened by pretty florals and delicate draping.

“Monochrome is classy, timeless and elegant” says Chloe “which is exactly what I wanted from this styled shoot. The pearls, with the black and white added that little bit of sparkle and glam.

Bows are a big trend for 2024 so bringing them into the shoot was important and they are my favourite detail; they worked with this theme seamlessly. “

  • When it came to the suppliers, I knew I had to choose them wisely. The team I brought together were perfect and so very talented. I enjoyed working with this amazing bunch of Rutland based wedding suppliers.

Florist – Isobel from Pickleberry Flowers

When I was given the brief of black and white but also modern, I was a little nervous! I like to hide behind lots of greenery and moss usually and I love a wild look. However, by using only white, bleached foliage, wispy gypsophila with longer stems and lichen covered twigs from my picking patch I think I achieved my wild love look with no sight of green! The overall look was magical. It was also a pleasure to work alongside all these talents! Rutland really does have amazing suppliers, a small but mighty county!

Make Up Artist – Zoe Clarke

When Chloe asked me to be a part of this styled shoot, I said yes instantly! I grew up with Chloe so being able to work together in a creative way was just so much fun. The monochromatic theme was exciting, the inspiration for make-up glam and I was absolutely here for it. I used some of my favourite products: Made by Mitchell Curve Case in Medium, the Huda Beauty Loose Powder in Cupcake & Vieve Skin Dew in Original.

Dress – Becky from Modern Day Bridal

As soon as Chloe asked me to do this shoot and I saw the brief, I knew our ‘Jess’ dress by Eva Lendel would be the perfect match! She screams elegance and pairs beautifully with the minimalist vibe and monochrome colour palette. She is the ultimate classic, crafted from luxurious Mikado fabric that is both versatile and on-trend with her detachable overskirt.

The Jess dress can be ordered in any size and is available to try on at our boutique in Oakham, Rutland.

Stylist – Yasmin from Sparkle Event Styling

When Chloe at Daffodil Event Planning asked me to style her monochrome shoot I didn’t hesitate to say yes! Her mood board and vision for this shoot was on trend yet still elegant and timeless providing a luxury aesthetic.

We used a mixture of classic pieces such as glass candlesticks and white draping yet added in lots of black highlights creating the trend and modern feel, with candles, candlesticks and luxe bows alongside beautiful glass charger plates.

It was important for us to re-purpose items from ceremony to tablescape to show couples how they can easily maximise styling on their wedding day.

It was a pleasure to be a part of this shoot, working with so many talented people. We have provided immense inspiration for so many of my future brides.
