October Coffee & Connect at Kilworth House Hotel, Leicestershire

It was a lovely sunny morning for our October Fizzydo Coffee & Connect at Kilworth House Hotel in Leicestershire.

Under crisp blue October skies fifteen of us came together to meet for coffee and pastries in the Austen Room. Businesses included finance, photography, utilities, travel, creative, event services, business support, and cakes, so a rich mix!

Our speaker was Claire Flinders ACMA CGMA, founder of MOJO Accounting, who gave a presentation about Making Tax Digital. As many of the attendees are small independent businesses the information was very informative. The Q&A opened up interesting questions about eligibility, software, and useful tips for submitting information to the HMRC.

After the presentation, and a comfort break in what are some of the loveliest ladies loos in Leicestershire, a group of us went for a walk and talk around the hotel while others stopped to chat in the meeting room. For people who hadn’t visited Kilworth House Hotel before it was an opportunity to see some of the impressive function rooms, including my favourite, The Shakespeare Room, which is a private dining room in which I have long dreamed of organising something special (watch this space!)

Angela kindly showed us the Cellar Bar, which was a surprise find to some who had previously worked at events here but never ventured down the staircase to this cavernous party space underneath the hotel.

By the time we emerged back into daylight it was nearly time to say our goodbyes. Another lovely morning spent with great people at this beautiful venue.
