Melton Mowbray Wedding Showcase Recap

Thank you to everyone who came to the Venue Showcase in Melton Mowbray yesterday. To those of you who couldn’t make it, I’ve taken a few photos to keep you in the loop.

It was a hideous day weather wise, with rain and cloud, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying ourselves.

The bells of St. Michael’s & All Angels rang out getting us into the wedding spirit. A stunning Imperial Landaulette from Champaneri Cars stood proudly outside of the hall.

There were lots of newly engaged couples who came to see us, and many a new sparkly engagement ring to admire on arrival, including that of singer Emily Victoria Music. It was her birthday too so I gave her a birthday card signed by all the exhibitors and a tiny gift of Raspberry and Peppercorn Wax Melts (treat yourself via my online store - they smell divine!)

What’s the current vibe?

Many of my own conversations included discussions about the overwhelm of planning a wedding, the size of their wedding, and the atmosphere couple’s hope to create.

Thoughts seem to be turning away from big ostentatious events and may I say, ‘thankfully!’. Many of the couples I spoke with had a vision instead for family centred, intimate, and intentional events; a strong emphasis on their guest list, ambience, good food, and less about the ‘stuff’ - which is music to my ears because isn’t this what a wedding celebration is really about?

Lots to see…

The Old Hall was dressed for a ceremony by Dream Decor.

Cream Entertainment set up their white set display of DJ, Dance Floor and LOVE Letters, while their sister company Bradgate Events provided the chiavari chairs.

Dawn from Little D’s Cakery created a beautiful new display wedding cake especially for the occasion, and treated guests to samples of fresh carrot cake, lemon, and chocolate flavour tasters. I took a sample of carrot cake for Brian as it’s his favourite - my intention had been to share it but it was gone in one bite! LOL

Photography by Arlene and James Mottram Photography were also in attendance to discuss all things wedding photography.

As this was a Showcase it was a much slower, more relaxed pace than a wedding fair giving me more time engage with our guests, something I really enjoy.

If you were there, and we chatted, it was lovely to meet you and I’ll send any information as promised.

I hope to see you at our next event!
